As per your complain sore throat that started with fever and now you are left with a sore throat, stuffy nose and head ache and painful swallowing seems to be due to viral infection.. As the viral infection is relieved once the virus completes its cycle in human body, therefore you can take symptomatic treatment to relieve the symptoms causing discomfort.. -First of all start taking a combination of Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen as they will help in reducing fever and sore throat.. -Gargle with a warm saline solution that is by mixing 1 teaspoon salt in a glass of water and warm it to make a luke warm solution.. -Take a combination of decongestant like Phenylephrine, mucolytic like Ambroxol and anti allergic levocetrizine. -Take cough suppressant containing Dextromethorphan and cough expectorant containing Gueifenesin.. -Do steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room.. -Avoid spicy and chilled foods.. -Sip on warm water throughout the day.. -Suck throat lozenges and chew a Vitamin C pellet daily.. -Take sufficient rest and avoid exertion..
