Could Sharp Pain And Clotty Bleeding During Period Be An Indication Of Something Dangerous?

Ive got my period 3 weeks late after having protected sex..i got a really dark bleeding at firat and like clots its never happened before n this really big piece came out but it looked weird ...then my blood is stringy...when i got my period i had a really sharp pain.What is this??

Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

A late period, with passage of clots and tissue might very well be related to a miscarriage. There is no form of birth control that is 100% effective, so you must rule out pregnancy. Take a pregnancy test NOW. If it is negative, then schedule a visit with your OB/GYN to discuss the abnormal bleeding and to schedule an ultrasound to evaluate the uterus.
