Could Severe Pain In Head And Temple Area With Heavy Headedness After A Hit Be Just A Bruise?

I hit my head on the trunk of my car as i was getting something out of it it slammed down right on my head!! It was really painful afterwards and it took a couple hours for the pain to subside. I didnt have any severe symptoms i just had pain in the area where i got hit. when i woke up today (sunday) i felt like the top of my head was alot heavier than usual and i started feeling somewhat dizzy not to the point where i coudlnt see straight or that the whole room was spinning NO it was almost the feeling like the top of my head just makes me feel kinda lightheaded dizzy. its hard to explain but it still scares me. i just wanted to make sure everything was okay so i went to urgent care today. the doctor just physically examined me. she gave me a neurological exam checked my head but told me she didnt see any bumps and said that i just mightv e caused a bruise. she said it does take a couple days for the pain to completely subside and told me that symptoms dont necessarily show up right away it could take some time but that if i do start to have any new symptoms that i needed to go to the ER. all she said was since im not experiencing any severe symptoms that i shouldnt be worried and that its probably just a bruise. but now im having pain near my temple area and i feel heavy headed. should i still be worried or am i just having anxiety now?

Hi, thanks for posting your concern in the HCM.
I think you need not be panicked because there was no neurological signs present when your doctor examined you.
But, I should tell you that there is always a chance of internal bleeding (contusion or sub-dural haemorrhage) after a traumatic brain injury.
So, I think you should have a plain (non-contrast) CT scan of head done to rule out any neurological abnormality. If there is a scalp hematoma in the scan, you need not worry. But, in case there is an internal bleeding you need to get admitted and treated under critical care supervision by a neurosurgeon.
Hope you are satisfied with my answer. If you have any further query related to this, please write back.
In case you have any new query in future, you can directly ask me questions @ http://www.HealthcareMagic.com/doctors/dr-kaushik-sarkar/68460. I will try my level best to help you.
