Could Red Patches On Legs And Burns After Sweating Be Due To Eczema?

My 14 year old son has red patches on legs, some spots are circular, lighter on inside.....burns after sweating at basketball practice. We thought ringworm and have been applying antifungals but doesn't appear to be better. Could this just be dry skin/eczema?

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
The round patches which have persisted inspite of antifungals could be due to nummular or discoid eczema.
It can be treated with a mild topical steroid like hydrocortisone or fluticasone cream for 10-15 days followed by regular moisturisation to prevent dry skin.
Hope this helps you.
Take care.
