Could Pain In Ear Be Due To Infection?

My 5 year old is complaining about a pain in her right ear! If I gently push under her ear towards her jaw or the front of her ear close to her cheek she says it hurts? Is this sign of ear infection? In her whole five years of being alive she has only had one ear infection. She has had a mild cold and just got over the stomach flu
