Could Pain In Ankle And Toes After Bruising Be Nerve Damage?
I fell recently on the outer edge of my left foot. It bruised up severely but xrays showed no break. Now that the swelling has gone down I notice that I cannot move my left big toe up, but can curl it. The same goes for my left ankle. Did I by chance damage a nerve or tendon/ligament? Thank you
Hi Welcome to healhcaremagic After going through your query I concluded that you got deep bruise to my left foot. Now you are unable to dorsiflex you great toe and ankle. It is not due to nerve damage . It is likely to be due to tendon injury to extension tendons of great toe and ankle. For detail examination it requires clinical examination. Analgesic such as ibuprofen are useful as these relieve pain and swelling. Vitamin B and C help in recovery. You can discuss your doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
