Could Migraines, Contractions And Increased Sugar Level Suggest Onset Of Labour?

I am 37 weeks pregnant today, yesterday I went to the doctor and had a normal blood pressure but had +1 protein in my urine. I went back to the doctor today, normal blood pressure again negative protein but had 1000 sugar in my urine. I have been having bad migraines with blurry vision and have been having contractions. I am dilated at 1.5 cm but still thick. Could this be the onset of labor?

Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
+1 proteinuria is sometimes considered normal in pregnancy.
This is because during pregnancy the renal excreting membranes become more permeable than non pregnant state.
If your blood pressure is normal, and protein and sugar is not more than +1, do not worry.
If you are having a history of migraines, then please seek proper treatment for the same.
Blurred vision could be attributed to the migraines, but please monitor your blood pressure religiously.
1.5 cm does not signify labour, as there is no effacement.
Labour pains would come fast, intermittently, being associated with the hardening of the uterus, and with mucus show and slight blood tinged discharge.
This does not sound like labour pains.
Just monitor your blood pressure sincerely.
If the headaches and the blurred vision do not subside, contact your doctor immediately.
Also, have lots of fluids and restrict your salt and sugar intake in the diet.
All the best
Take care.
