Could Light Headedness During Pregnancy Be Due To Iron Deficiency?

Hi, my name is Brittany and I am 15 weeks pregnant. Every day around noon I feel extremely light headed, my hands start shaking really bad, and my arms go weak/numb, I feel like I have to sit down immediately or I feel like i m going to panic or vomit. I also drink water when this happens. I was thinking it could maybe be an iron deficiency, or? I dont know. Its freaking me out.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to pregnancy. During pregnancy iron deficiency is very common. So, to answer your question, yes iron deficiency can be on of the causes. I recommend to do a blood test and ferritin level for further evaluation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
