Could Feeling Of Bubble Under The Shoulder Blade Going Up After Eating Be Due To Not Using The Waist To Support Weight Of A Bag?

It feels as though every 20mns or so an eat bubble escapes from under my shoulder blade and goes up, then disappears (but doesn t pop). It doesn t hurt, but it s become rather annoying. Will it eventually go away or is there something wrong? I did a big long hike with a proper bag and couldn t use my waist to support it much, as my hips felt bruised from before.. I m guessing that s what caused it.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.
I understand your concern.
The sensation of gas going up is the air travelling up in the food pipe ( esophagus).
It is normal after food and more so if you have a soda or any aerated drink.
Tight clothes and pressure on the abdomen can increase it.
Also spicy food, acidic food, caffeinated drinks, chocolates etc can produce it.
If you are stressed you tend to swallow air ( aerophagia) and this again can have the same symptoms.
So relax, there is nothing to worry. Eat proper, wholesome food, avoid the things I have mentioned and you would be fine soon.
Take Care
Dr Noble Zachariah
