Could Diabetes Be The Cause For Fatigue And Shivers?

My 88 year old father with Type 2 (for many years) is having shaking fits and fatigue. His blood sugar is around 155 (on metformin) consistently. He has dimentia and is living in a memory care facility. He has no appetite and sleeps most of the time. Could his diabetes be causing these shaky fits? Vital signs are good.

Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear sir I understand your concern. I am very happy you are this conscientious because having a well controlled blood sugar is very important in preventing the onset of diabetic complications. In my opinion the drug metformin is a safe drug and will not cause low sugar.By the data given by you, I can make that his sugars are fine. The shaking fits and fatigue may due to neurological slow down which may be due to age factor.in this age group we should rule out conditions like parkinsons and alzheimers in such conditiuons also there will be slight tremor..
I suppose I have given the desired response if you have any other query please write back.
Otherwise please accept & rate my answer. I will appreciate your review about my answer.
Best Regards.
