Hi, Very sorry for your complications from surgery. What you describe is not an uncommon complication from such a surgery. However, depending on the type of tumor it was- perhaps the risks of taking it out (resulting in your facial, hand, and leg paralysis) were judged to be worth the benefit of removing that foreign mass which may have been causing problems due to elevated intracranial pressure, headaches, other symptoms of weakness, etc. The good news, however, is that 1 year postsurgery is not necessarily that much time for full recovery and I believe it is still possible that with rehabilitation assistance you may still be able to obtain some type of recovery. You should investigate something called Functional Electrical Stimulation therapy (FES). Even after 1 year there may still be a window of opportunity if you can find a center that has this capability to treat patients with similar problems. Unfortunately, I live in the United States therefore, I do not know how to direct you to any specialists in your geographic area.
