Could Bloating, Pain In Abdomen, Swollen Foot And Ankle Be Due To Having Colon Resection?

Thank you. I had diverticulitis rupture about 6 years ago and had a colon resection. All colonoscopies since then have been fine. For many weeks now, I have been very bloated with abdominal pain, ocasional shortness of breath, and now my left foot and ankle are quite swollen. Related, or just making up a coinsodence?

Hi and welcome to HCM.
Colon resectio would have some impact on dsigestion but it would occur laready soon after surgery, not so many years after so I am not sure if this is related. YOu shoul have easier doet, and take probiotics. This may be sign of some autoimmune disease, IBS or innapropriate diet.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help
