Could Back Pain Caused By Kidney Infection Be A Result Of Marijuana Smoking?

A long time ago, 3 years ago I was diagnosed with a kidney infection. After my meds I still felt pain on my back side (right). I was a chronic marijuana smoker and recently quit and have been off for 5 days and now I m starting to notice the pain again like I used to when normally I only would if I ve been sitting/slouching for long periods of time. The pain exists when I don t sit up straight for sure or do anything in a non upright/straight angle. I have talked to doctors about this and the pain cannot be recreated by hitting my back. And ultrasounds have been ordered and everything looks ok. When I stand up straight it s almost like my last rib is missing but it isn t broken as I ve never broken a single bone in my body. I have had this pain for 3 years and every doctor doesn t know what to do. I am not ever looking for pain pills either from them, just some help to the cause since it s obviously not my organs being the issue because I want it to stop. Do I need to see a chiropractor because when I stand up straight I lean off to the left sorta (spine isn t s shaped or anything)? Could that be why I feel like I m being stabbed? Or do I need to have them remove my rib or get X-rays ordered? -Rebecca

Hi,

I feel that the pain is due to muscle spasm and a visit to the chiropractor may help. Decide about X-rays only after a visit to the chiropractor. If your doctor has not ordered routine blood tests including blood urea and serum creatinine levels, then please get these done as well.

Best wishes.
