Constipation, Hard Stool, Burning Sensation After Bowel Movement. Undergone Surgery For Fistula, Hemorrhoid. Normal?
hey I had surgery for fistula and hemroid a few months ago. at present the wound are not completely healed. About 3 weeks ago I experience constipation. the stool was really hard and I have to push it out. my doctor prescribe fibre tablets along with drucolax as a means of helping to soften the stool I drink lots of water. my concern is that I experience a burning sensation (pain) aftern having a bowel movement. is this normal and for how long can I expect this to last?
Burning sensation is because of the mucosal damage by hard stool passage . This symptom can be alleviated by applying some anaesthetic jelly or cream in and around the anal region before and after passing stool, so that the anal sphincter is relaxed and the damaged mucosa is healed.
Dietary changes are quite important. Fibre diet to be promoted like fruits, vegetables /salads in plenty. Plenty of liquids. Avoid maida (fine flour). Use flour for the bread with its husk.
Laxatives to be used frequently. Isabgol husk is a very good laxative , should be used routinely.
Hope the query is answered and will be useful to you.
Thanks
