Constant Excessive Gas. Having Benign Goiter On Left Thyroid. Taking Natural Supplements. Reason For Gas?

Hi, I am looking for a gastrentologist to help me with stomach problems. I have been having constant excessive gas and I don t understand why. I started having gas around June/July of last year. I kind of turned the other cheek with it but it s starting to interfe with my daily life. I started at a new college this spring semester and thought maybe it was just nervous gas but being that this is my third year, that theory went out the window. I ve lost about 45 pounds over the last year and am looking to loose about 35 more. I also have a benign goiter on my left thyroid and am taking a natural supplement to shrink it after choosing to not have it surgically removed. Other than that my lifestlye has been the same since my teen years. I appreciate any and all information as this is a very embarrasing problem and its affecting important aspects of my life. Thank you so much for your time and help.

Hi there.
When you say, you have weight loss and looking for more weight loss further- that means you are working on weight loss by diet and exercise methods- am I right?
Also, you have mentioned about a thyroid swelling- did you get it evaluated by ultrasonography and fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC)? If not, then please get it done first and then only use the so called natural supplements for suppressing the goitre. Please understand that suppression of goitre by thryroid supplement has been an outdated concept and multiple thyroid societies have said that it is absolutely of no use.
Coming to your main symptoms of gases, try wholesome meals and not the refined food items, eat fresh fruits and no fruit juices or drinks, eat less oily and less spicy and stop milk, tea, coffee or milk whitener for next 1 month or so. Take only lacto-bacilli rich yogurts or buttermilks. You will find relief by reducing animal proteins also. If this all does not help then take over the counter antacids like T Pantoprazole 40 mg twice daily, 30 minutes before major meals.
If that also does not help, then see a Gastroenterologist personally to get an OGD test done to rule out mucosal problems in your food pipe.
I hope this helps. Take care.
