Constant Cramping, Came Off Pill, Periods Regular. Have Abdominal Pains, Bloating. Have Under Active Thyroid, On Levothyroxine
I'm a 28 year old who for past 10 months has been experiencing constant period like cramping. Started being on and off but now it is constant. Came off pill in March as advised to monitor periods. Periods are relatively regular (31 day cycle), not that heavy as last around 5 days. I also have some abdo pain & bloating at times. Bloods ok - discovered under active thyroid. Now on 25mcg levothyroxine. Worried it's something sinister. Have a trans abdo and vaginal uss in a week. Vaginal swabs all clear. What could it be? I appreciate the scans will prob identify gynae issues but it's really bothering me & it's affecting my day to day life as so tired! Mary
Hi Mary, Constant cramps unrelated to periods can occur due to many reasons. You really do need to get that ultrasound to rule out fibroids, endometriosis, cysts,GB pathology and colitis. The scan results will tell your more. Meanwhile see a gyneacologist for a pelvic exam if you havent already.
