Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain in the neck that you are feeling is likely to be related to a muscle pull or an infection like lymph node swelling. A direct examination of the area is required for proper diagnosis. You can do a hot fomentation till then for relief.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. You can consult me again directly through my profile URL http://bit.ly/Dr-Praveen-Tayal
