Child With Fever, Typhoid, Taking Cap. How Much Time Will It Take To Recover?
My daughter is 6yrs old after having afever last week now doctor told that she is suffering from typhoid .doc has prescribed Efoxim -100DT ;Oflorec-200 Meftal-P for 5days is it sufficient and how many days itwill take now also fever comes anf suddenly temp rises and after some times she became normal what food she could take pls ans i am very much worried typhoif treatment is started from last 2days but the situation id same...

The antibiotics will need to be taken for 7days post her fever getting alright.i.e if fever gets alright in 3 days then the antibiotic needs to be taken for 10days.Diet should be non spicy and non oily.She should take light food with fruits and vegetable which can be easily digested.After her typhoid becomes alright also plan her vaccination against typhoid so that she doesnot get a recurrent attack of typhoid .The fever in typhoids are sometimes very difficult to treat so in ideal situation intravenous antibiotics work better than oral medication.However in her case if her fever doesnot subside in 7 days then you need to get her evaluated again.
