Child Seems Weaker, Has Reflux Issues, Sweaty, Skin Feels Damp. What Is The Problem?

My son is 6 weeks old and his cry has gotten weaker, it sounds raspy and hoarse. He has reflux problems, and gas problems. Today I noticed him getting sweaty and warm and his skin feels damp. He has a 100.2 temperature, also. His eating is fine, his bowel movements are normal. Could it just be a problem associated with his reflux?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

Reflux will not cause the problems mentioned by you. I am more concerned about the cause of temperature of 100.2F which needs to be investigated and treated. It is this fever which is causing the hoarse raspy sound and the feeling of "dampness" of the skin. I suggest that you consult your doctor who shall examine the baby and treat him accordingly. In the interim you can give him acetaminophen/paracetamol drops to reduce the temperature.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your son an early recovery.
