Child Is Congested, Has Diarrhea, Foul Smell, Noise In Stomach. What Could It Be?
Hi, im a first time mom and is concerned about my son. My son is almost 3 months old and the last four nights he has been extremely congested (only during the night though). Starting early this morning, he has had diareahh 4 times within 7 hours. It s yellow and real sour smell. My mother said she thought it smelled viral. He is eating all of his bottle without vomiting so I don t know if its a virus or what? He is very cranky and his stomach is making lots of noise. Could it be from the mucus he is swallowing .....? What does this sound like it could be?
Hi Blynnc,
First of all let me congratulate you for becoming mom.
Children of this age cannot spit out the sputum during the cough. They swallow it down, which can result in change in consistency of stool.
As small children try to put anything in mouth, chances of gastrointestinal infection are also there.
Stomach making noices can be due to gas, as a child swallows air also while feeding.
It is advisable that get your child examined by a Paeditrician at the earliest.
Always take care of the hygeinic conditions around the child's surroundings. Keep his hands clean as babies try to put their hands in their mouth and always give pure filtered water for drinking.
Always get your child vaccinated at time as this prevents many infections.
I hope this is of help to you. If you have any other query,I will be happy to help.
Thanks.
