Child Having Recurring Fever. Viral Fever?

hi my son is 2 yrs old..some 13-14 days back..he had fever (between 100-100.4 F) with cough and runny nose...the doc prescribed crocin suspension syrup (acetaminophen) for fever, cefixime oral suspension as antibiotic and syrup of cetrizine hydrochloride and ambroxol hydrochloride for cough and cold...for 5-7 days...The fever got over after 4-5 days and cough and cold considerably reduced. Day before yesterday my child again developed fever. the doc says it is viral...can the viral fever subside and reoccur again after 10-12 days or should we get the blood tests done..the fever still fluctuates between 100-100.4 F when measured under the arm.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic,
Many viruses are there and they may cause fevers one after the other causing frequent infections in children.
Continue paracetamol in prescribed dose depending on the presence of fever.
Give adequate rest and plenty of oral fluids.
If the fever is not getting back even after 48 hours consult your Pediatrician again for further evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query.
