Child Having Palpitations And Anxiety. EKG Normal. Need Help

My 13 year old son has anxiety/fears and from time to time has heart palpitations. He says it feels like his heart skips a beat. This is very frightening to him and me! I had an EKG and ultra sound of the heart done on him a year ago. It all appeared fine. Can anxiety cause these palpitations and what can we do to alleviate this?

Hi

Before blaming your son's condition on anxiety I will rule out cardiac causes of palpitations. I will recommend that you go for Holter monitor that monitors the heart beat for a prolonged time. Also go for basic tests like hemoglobinlevel, etc to rule out other causes of palpitations.
