Hi,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum.

Your child seems to be suffering from an infection. Presuming he has mild to moderate fever and has prodromal symptoms, it is likely a viral infection.

Viral infection is usually self limiting and would settle down with paracetamol (crocin), plenty of fluids and healthy vegetables / fruits. However if there is worsening of fever, recurrence of loose stools, abdominal pain, reduced urination and dehydration, medical attention is needed.

In this context, I would suggest you to continue with medications as suggested by your doctor. Feed him with plenty of fluids and soft diet. Watch out for worsening fever, persistent loose stools with vomiting / vomiting, reduced vomiting, increased thirst and so on. These symptoms need immediate medical attention.

Hope this answers your query.

I wish your son a speedy recovery.

Regards
