Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

For significan ear pain you can give ibuprofen containing syrup like Advil or Motrin in the prescribed dosage and it can be given after food every 8 th hourly depending on the presence of pain with crying.

And child needs ear examination by otoscope to look for any infection of the middle ear.

Ear infections require antibiotic treatment in addition to ibuprofen for pain relief as the control of infection is important.

If there is pus inside the middle ear as seen with acute otitis media, it has to be released by giving a surgical incision.

Therefore I advise you to consult a Pediatrician or an ENT specialist for the examination and for specific treatment.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
