Child Has Diarrhea, Mucus In Stools, Vomiting. Prescribed Pediolite. What Should I Do?

Hi, my Preemie baby is 8.5 months now. Had diarrhea or frequent bowel movement . Sometimes the stool had mucus thereand acted normally for two weeks. Today he vomited two times. I called his pediatrician and she said stop feeding him, just gave him pediolite. In his stool I found whitish pieces. He was cranky, tired and fell esleep. What should I do?

Pediatrician, Neonatology 's  Response
Hi,

Yes that is the best treatment for now.
Replacement of fluids and electrolytes is the first line of management of diarrhoea.
However if he vomits and can not retain pedialyte, you have to take him to the
doctor again.
