Child Has A Viral Infection. High Fever, Reddish Skin, Loose Stools. Seems Tired When Fever Is High. Signs Of Viral Infections?

hello! my son has been suffering from fever for 4 days now. his doctors told us that he has a viral infectiveon. He has high fever but will subside then goes up again. his skin appears reddish but sometimes it disappears. it is reddish when his temperature is very high. he has loose stools but not often. today he had 3. when fever disappears he plays and seems ok. when fever hits him he is really weak. are these really signs of viral infection? he is taking erythromycin and i give him calpol for fever.

Hi,
Viral fever can behave in this manner .Most of the kids when afebrile are back to active selfs.The reason for fever coming intermittently is because one give antipyretics and once it's action subsides fever hits back.

I would suggest you to relax and continue the medications as advised.keep him well hydrated with encouraging small portions of meal at regular intervals.If his fever does not subside completely in a next 2days get him examined again by his doctor.
