Child Had Ear Pain For A Few Days. Does Swimmer's Ear Go Away On Its Own?

We spent Memorial Day weekend in a hotel - and my 5 yr old spent a lot of time in the pool .... On Sunday night, she was complaining of an ear ache --- it still hurt her on Monday and Tuesday -- but come Wednesday, she said it didn't hurt anymore .... If she in fact had swimmer's ear, can it go away on its own. She says she is totally fine now.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Since she has no complaints you need not really worry. But if you think the initial problem was so bad you may consider examination by your doctor to be doubly reassured.

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
