Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I got up last night with a pounding heart beat and huge discomfort on my chest and I could not breath properly. After I ate a sausage sandwich, I didn t fell good. Once Iaid down boom my chest was tight with pressure and my heart was pounding and did felt a little dizzy... Went to ER and no signs of a heart attack ... What was it?
It must be the sandwiches undoing.sometimes after a heavy meal we do tend to feel agitated and present with complaints of chest discomfort.this is very often confused with a heart attack and most commonly is attributed to indigestion and is specially compounded when taking a nap immediately after heavy meals.I would recommend you to finish your meals at least 3 hours prior to sleep-time,also going for small walks after meals is highly recommended. If problems with indigestion, acidity or flatulence persists i recommend you to take a mild antacid before meals and drink plenty of fluids to get your metabolism working.Hope this post answers your query and allays your fear.
Hi,thanks for your question.
All the symptoms that you have described are of myocardial ichemia (Heart attack).
But since ER has ruled out any heart attack.
It also could be also due to High blood pressure,at that point of time.
It could also be a part of Varient Angina (Ischemia but not infaction).
I would suggest you to get yourself evaualvated for your symptoms . You may need besides ECG Echocardiography and TMT.
Hope, this answers your question.
