What Causes Anxiety , Chest Pain And Indigestion?

I am 56 years old and see my cardiologist regularly for a heart attack (they believe to be stress induced) I had 14 yrs ago. I have rare anxiety attacks which have similar symptons to my heart attack symptoms. I have heartburn, indigestion, difficulty breathing, and some chest discomfort in my upper left chest area. Do these sound like anxiety symptoms?

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, your symptoms are more suggestive of stress and anxiety.
Stress is well known risk factor for GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). It causes laxity of gastroesophageal sphincter. So acid of the stomach tends to come up in the esophagus and cause the symptoms of heart burn, indigestion etc.
So we need to treat your anxiety first.
Better to consult psychiatrist and get done counseling sessions.
Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution.
You may need anxiolytic drugs too. So avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
