Cause For Swelling And Peeling Skin In The Infected Finger Nail?

I have a badly infected finger nail, it started on the cuticle and I soaked it for a few days and it burst with pus, but in the last 2 days my finger tip to my last knuckle (nearest my nail) is red, swollen and peeling skin, the cuticle looks pussy still and I have pain in my underarm and from my finger up to my elbow... Can u tell me what this could be please?

Hi

You seem to have developed cellulitis .
This is basically an infection of the soft tissue of hand.
You need to see a nearby doctor soon so that timely treatment can be done.
You need a course of oral antibiotics so as to control the infection .
You should try and keep the affected areas clean and dry . Clean it with a topical antiseptic lotion twice a day followed by application of a topical antibiotic cream like neosporin or mupirocin over it.
