Can Thyroid Lead To Cancer?

As any other organ , Cancer can also affect Thyroid gland and it needs further management earlier the better.
In early stage (known after evaluation by surgeon/Oncologist) Thyroid surgery is enough that is followed by further tests like Whole body I131 scan to know if the surgery is complete or not if not further therapy as required is given.
But if at the initial stage there is spread to other organs (eg lung, bone or brain) the treatment is not simple it requires multidisciplinary approach eg Surgery with or without RadioIodine therapy (if the same is iodine avid decided by a Whole body Iodine scan)
So in your case you need to consult your Surgeon who will guide about the best option available.
