Can The Depo Shot Cause Swollen Glands Or Other Swelling In Armpit Area?

can the depo shot cause swollen glands or other swelling in the armpit area? I have had 2 shots now and i have noticed a definite difference in my armpit area... like fuffy or fuller not really sure what it is... not painful though just bigger than normal..? Is this dangerous?

Hi,

It's really unlikely. An infection certainly can cause lymph nodes BUT they are near where the infection is unless there is a lot of infection. Several possibilities. I cannot say in your particular case, but generally, slight changes in lymph node consistency can just happen. Maybe with menstrual cycle and then, maybe indeed the Depo shot did it. Also, one can have infection in the hairs of the arm pit but that is usually extremely obvious like tons of boils.
