Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a cortizone shot in my knee on Thursday. I went to the retina doctor on Friday. He gave me a 4 week retinal eval invamd shot. They askled me about any meds I had and I forgot to tel them of the shot. Can the cortizone shot effect the eye shot?
Hi! I can understand your problem, nothing to worry! Cortizone injections given into the muscles or veins carry the risk of causing side effects involving the eyes on long run. However, the cortizone injection given into the joint intended for localized action like reducing the pain and swelling in the joint, the injection is given 3-4 times/year, least likely to cause side effects involving the eyes. You may please continue to take the treatment for your eye problem as advised by your eye doctor. Regards!
