Dear Friend
Welcome to Health care magic. I am Dr Charu , I will shortly try to help you with my opinion.

This can be due to a condition called scabies which is a mite infection.
It spreads via close contact or through fomites like bedding, towel or cloth sharing.

Is your friend or any of his family member having itch?

When is your itch more: night or morning?

what are the sites of itch and what kinds of lesions do you have?

Based on the available details, this is my best advice for you. You should discuss with your doctor and share my opinion , I am sure he/she will agree to my opinion.
Good Luck.
