Hi My grand ma has got stomach cancer doctor said this cannot be cured as her age is now 85 years Is it can be cured at this age stomach cancer

Sorry about your grandmother.yes the doctor was right since carcinoma stomach treated per se has survival for 5 years at 30-40%,also it involves a lengthy procedure of surgery+chemo+radio which may not be advisable at her age.And also most stomach cancers are detected late.She can however be given palliative care which is taking care of pain.
