Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 11 year old son was playing in a field and ran full speed into a barbed wire. There was no bleeding or puncture but a very large blood bruise formed. It s now starting to change colors but has not diminished in size (this is day 6). He says it doesn t really hurt him. My question is: Is it ok to fly on an airplane with his bruise? It s only a 2 hr. flight but I can t help but be concerned. Thanks!
HI, Its natural for a bruise to change color from reddish brown to black and then fade away as brown , green, and yellowish. Its natural process. As for flying, He can definitely fly. If he is not complaining of any pain or has no swelling and difficulty in walking please do not worry. But if you notice any of above signs please visit a doctor
