Hello Dr Grief. I started Chantix 2 months ago. for a while my smoking decreased but it's back to 3 packs a day. I had an accident because I lost my vision at night after an oncoming car went by, so I don't drive at night now. Right now I'm into the 2nd month by 20 days and my hands are peeling, I have hard bumps (white in color) on my tongue and a few blisters under my tongue, my sleep is disturbed, I cannot stay asleep. I have quit the Chantix and will see my personal physician next month (the 7th). Are the side effects to be expected to go away soon? My hands feel as if they have been burned, and while the problems in my mouth (also lower lip is swollen) do not really bother my too much but I have an unusual itch on my arms and scalp, the wife looked, no blisters or anything on my scalp, maybe it's psychosomatic, but it's a dickens to cope with. My sleep was also disturbed, have not slept well at all. I quit Chantix the day before yesterday when my hands began peeling. Am I doing the right thing? Should I perhaps move my Dr' appointment up? Thank you for any help you may be able to give. Sincerely J.B. Harris
