Can Shelcal Cause Appetite Loss?

Is shecal cause to loose appetite? My father of chronic kidney patient and going through hemodialysis having shelcal 500 mg twice a day, my reading is whenever he will start taking shecal he will loose appetite, is it true if yes then what would be the best alternative?

Nausea, vomiting, constipation; increased thirst or urination; muscle weakness, bone pain or confusion, lack of energy, or feeling tired are some of the side effects of shelcal.

Shelcal contains calcium carbonate.Other brands of shelcal can be tried.Calcium citrate malate is a water-soluble calcium supplement. It is the calcium salt of citric acid and malic acid with variable composition.Calcium citrate malate can be tried as an alternative after physician approval.
