Can Scarlet Fever Treatment Cause Severe Knee Pain?
my 10 year old son started complaining of pain behind one knee, in no time both, the pain is so severe he can t even walk, but says the pain is not bad when resting. This has been going on for 4 days now. Would the fact that he is being treated for strep throat w/scarlet fever be a factor and if not what could cause this.

HI...yes they could be related. The same organism causing scarlet fever can cause rheumatic fever also. I suggest you get back to your pediatrician regarding this and work up for rheumatic fever.
