Can Rotavirus Cause Fainting?

I fainted couple of times (within 1 min.) in ealy a.m., I started feeling sick the day before, headache, slightly stuffy head, body ache, light diahrea, and light stomach craps, dry mouth. I went to the dr. yesterday, and she said I have a rotovirus. My question is, can the virus make you faint. The faiting scard me, it was really weird to loose cotrol of your body. Thank you.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes, rotavirus can cause faint due to watery diarrhea.

Some advices that I can give to you are:

-Drink liquids.
-Take ORS solution.
-Eat the BRAT diet: bananas, rice (white), applesauce and toast.
-Simple foods that are easy to digest, use a diet of bland foods like simple whole grains, apples, bananas, and rice for the first few days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
