Can Redness Due To Pyruvic Peel Heal?

I had a pyruvic peel done 16 days ago. I had a very bad reaction. The day after the peel I looked as though I was a burn victim. I have healed but I still have a few areas of reddness. The dermatologist said that I had cold sores on my face, and this created an infection. I have never had cold sores so this is shocking to me. Anyway she prescribed Locoid cream and Cicafate to use twice a day. I am seeing her again in 2 weeks. Is the reddness likely to heal??????

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your concern may be irritation secondary to the peel. Erythema will settle down, don't worry. Just follow your dermatologist guidelines and avoid direct sun exposure between 10 to 3 pm even with sunscreen until redness settles down.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sandeep Golla
