Can Protected Sex Using Condom Lead To Pregnancy?

Hi, a friend had intercourse with a woman using a condom. After an hour the woman left but took the wrapped condom in a tissue with her and later she claimed that she was pregnant, is this possible? The condom used was a Latex condom and had contained benzocaine 4.5%.. Would this procedure work for her to just become pregnant?

Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Condoms have a failure rate ranging from 3 - 18 %.
So yes it is possible that the condom failed and she became pregnant.
A DNA paternity test would confirm the father.
Take care.
