HELLO, I AM CURIOUS TO KNOW IF PROLONGED USE OF CONCERTA CAN ENLARGE THE HEART? MY SON WHOM IS 11yo CURRENTLY, BEGIN TAKING THE MEDS AT AGE 5. HE HAS BEEN HAVING HIGH BLOOD PRESSURES AND YESTERDAY I WAS TOLD THAT HE SHOULD HAVE A CHEST X~ray TO SEE IF HIS HEART IS ENLARGED. PLEASE TELL ME THAT THERE IS NO WAY POSSIBLE FOR THIS TO HAPPEN?

Concerta contains methylphenidate which is used for ADHD. One of the adverse effect can be increase in bp. It does not cause any enlargement of heart.
To rule out cause of high bp in a 11yr old you should go for a 2D Echo.
