Can Pioglit Helps To Improve LH Level?

hello doctor, iam 27yrs old female, 3yrs back i got one miscarriage. till now nochild. two months before i went to a fertility hospital. doctor told i have high LH level (6). no follicular growth . doctor told me to take pioglit for two months. is there any relation between Lh and pioglit. plz help me how can i reduce Lh?

Hello,

Pioglitazone is a good drug for diabetes, although it does have some cardiac risk concern. Studies have indicated that it does work very well in patients with PCOS to stabilize glucose values. I am aware that in patients with PCOS it does decrease infertility rates and can help normalize FSH and LH levels, however I have not read any studies that this effect on stabilizing these hormones can occur in patients without PCOS.

I apologize, I am not in anyway trying to be pessimistic. There are a number of natural means to reduce LH levels: weight loss, low carb diet and an over the counter supplement called Inositol. These have been shown to lower the blood value of LH back to normal levels.
