Can Panadol. Zyrtic Flu Pills Or Vitamin C Cause Abnormal Blood Discharge During Periods?

Reddish brown period. I started my period on the 22 of december while on november it was on the 25th and on september it was on the 21st. The first day of my period, it was a mix of brown and my white discharge that i normally have (I am a teen 15 almost 16). I recently came back from a cold weather country for a trip on the 24th (I had my period while i was there), which may be the cause because I have always lived in an always-summer country. The second day it was like a normal period, thick and dark red like my usual, third day it was slightly lesser but I was on the plane so I don't really know if that might be the cause because im always sitting down, forth day it was like a long patch of dark red blood (brown because it dried up on the pad), on thursday NIGHT was when I was worried. at 2:30 am in the morning i checked my pad and it has dark red spots and fresh-cut blood red spots on my pad, and it is also dripping from my *part* once in awhile. On the fifth day, which is today, 27th of december, I have red/brown drops of blood, it dripped on the floor when i wanted to have a shower. The first few drops were dark/ reddish brown (more to red) then afterwards it was fresh cut red color. What happened?! (yes i have a boyfriend and we had protected sex i think a week after my november 25th period stopped, but i wasn't on any pills.) and recently on the 9 days trip to switzerland (its cold now) from december 16-december 24, i had up and down flu, (fever, sorethroat and running nose) and took in quite a lot of panadol, zyrtic flu pills and vitamin C. Could that also be the cause? Or am i Pregnant? which i dont hope to be. :(

Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
You should always exclude pregnancy or a related complication such as a miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy.
A simple test will tell you that.
So please get that done.
Slightly abnormal periods can be due to recent change of climate and mild flu and illness, so that too could be a reason.
Stress, tensions, weight gain, change in time zones, sleeping habits, ingestion of hormonal medications - all can cause menstrual irregularities.
A polyp or endometrial hyperplasia or polycystic ovarian syndrome - all can cause such a picture.
Please consult a gynecologist if you have a negative test, to know what is the exact condition.
All the best.
