Can Pain In The Left Side Abdomen Be A Sign Of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome?

For the past month, I have been having pains on my left side. At first they thought it could be one cyst. But I'm sure it may be more. My mother has the same thing, and had to get them removed in order to get pregnant with me. I am thinking I may have Polycystic ovary syndrome. I do have all the symptoms. But my mom won't take me in for it.

Hi,

Pain Abdomen is uncommon in PCOS(Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). The principle features of PCOS are:
A. anovulation, resulting in irregular menstruation, amenorrhea, ovulation-related infertility
B. excessive amounts or effects of androgenic (masculinizing) hormones, resulting in acne and hirsutism
C. insulin resistance, often associated with obesity, Type 2 diabetes, and high cholesterol levels.

The symptoms and severity of the syndrome vary greatly among affected women. There is strong evidence that it is a genetic disease.
The best way to find out the cause of pain is to have USG abdomen done. Consult your doctor for clinical examination, necessary investigations and treatment required.
