Dear Beena, If you have got your menses after the unprotected sexual intercourse, the pregnancy is ruled out. However, very rarely, some bleeding is noticed at the time of expected menses during first few months of pregnancy. It is known as placental sign. Since you are having symptoms like engorged tender breasts, nausea, etc. (even though you are not on birth control pills), performing a pregnancy test on the overnight first morning urine sample after one week would give you the evidence; earlier this test may give false negative results. Alternatively, you may opt for Beta hCG test on your blood. If you are not pregnant, you may curtail salt in your diet which will give you some relief from the breast discomfort.
