Can Mirena Coil Removal Cause Pain In Lower Abdomen And Burning Sensation In Periods?

hi i am 54 years old and had mirena coil removed yesterday after 6years. since then i have pain in my lower abdomen and burning sensation in my vagina and finding it diffiuclt to sit for longer periods.
am also worried whether my periods will start again. i did suffer from heavy periods prior to mirena coil. my gp thinks that i may have past my menopuse therefore there is no need to worry about having periods again. i am very anxious as at present i am in lot pain and am looking forward to having my periods again. please can you adivse me as to what i should do.
