Can Kidney Problems At Birth Cause Major Depression In Adulthood?

This may seem like a very stupid question, but for yrs now, I have been trying to figure out who I may have "inherited" my moods swings and major depression and anxiety from. No one in my family has been diagnosed w/ major depression.... When I was born, one of my kidney's was not fully developed, I underwent surgery to have my Urethra Tube replaced.... Could my past history w/ kidney problems have anything at all to do w/ my major depression?

I went through your details. First of all please understand, anxiety and depression are usually not inherited. They are purely behavir oriented, circumstantial oriented, very rarely heredity. Over and above, if it is heredity, it could come with other problems like schizophrenia. So you don't have to worry about that. Secondly kidney problems may not have any direct relationship with anxiety and depression. But thinking and being obsessive about a past kidney problem can cause anxiety and depression and that is due to the obsession. You may consult a psychologist for clarification.
