Can Jaundice Occur As Side Effect Of Giving Insulin?
Patient was recently diagnosed with diabetes..bilirubin levels went from .2 to 18 after insulin was given. Patient also had streptococ ( ah u know what I mean) infection in hand,,,( reason for going to ER in the first place. He is now jaundice and also greenish tint to skin tone..Could the insulin possibly have a negative effect on this patient?

Insulin cannot cause jaundice. There has to be another cause. Unfortunately, there is not enough information to form a differential diagnosis. The most common side effect of any type of Insulin is hypoglycemia. Jaundice is not supposed to occur normally.
